Anna Cavenagh is a Swiss-Australian artist based in county Cork, Ireland. She is a recent graduate from MTU Crawford College of Art and Design and SETU Wexford School of Art. Cavenagh’s artistic practice is multi-disciplinary, spanning performance, feminine handicraft, sculpture, installation, photography, film and sound. Her work begins in research which influences her material, formal and media choices. The work is anchored in specific actions or objects which are remade in distorted and mutated ways in order to stretch and reconsider their meaning. Her work is informed by her experience as a migrant and is interested in examining colonialism and the feminine experience in contemporary western culture.
Anna Cavenagh is a 2026 recipient of the Agility Award from the Irish Arts Council. Her work will be featured in Ghostnote, curated by Ali O’Shea and Embodied Cartographies, curated by Antonio Fontenla Cervera at Studio 12, Backwater Artist Group, Cork in 2027. She will be participating in the Äänekoski Youth Culture Live Broadcast in Jyväskylä, Finland in November, 2026.
